15 senior and home-bound homeowners in South Minneapolis are able to enjoy leaf-free yards this winter thanks to the efforts of Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotarians and their friends and relatives.  Despite a gloomy forecast of rain, 35 volunteers showed up on Saturday, November 3 to help these people out with their fall yard cleanup. Fortunately, the rain held off and the temperature rose into the upper 30°s so that the task was not so daunting.

The Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club has been doing fall cleanup for elderly and infirm homeowners in South Minneapolis for 25 years and our efforts are always greatly appreciated by the homeowners who, without our help, would be unable to remove the leaves from their yards and get them bagged for pick up.  Said one homeowner: “Thank you so much! You are such a help to us.”

Following the raking, we all adjourned to Matt‘s Bar for a well-deserved feast featuring their famous Jucy Lucy burgers and fries.

Thanks to all of our members who continually put forth the extra effort to make life a little better for those in need in our community.
