City of Lakes Rotary found a solution for kids in Minneapolis who need help to succeed. We did this in 2 major ways over 3 years, and we continue on:

*  Collected & distributed 10,000 books to kids in Minneapolis who need them.
*  Provided 10,000 meals to alleviate food scarcity. When you’re hungry, it’s hard to concentrate on reading.

We identified the need and worked with several partners to enrich the lives of kids in Minneapolis through books. Some of our projects included: stocking Little Free Libraries in distressed areas, so kids can have access to a larger variety of books they can keep in their homes, partnering with Hennepin County Corrections to supply dictionaries for adult learners and with Minneapolis Public Schools to helps adults learn English so they can be better parents. We developed partnerships with several Minneapolis preschools and elementary schools to encourage reading in youngsters by giving them a book that’s their very own.

We are worked to reduce hunger for kids in Minneapolis by financial and hands-on support for Community Emergency Services (CES) that services the most diverse neighborhood in Minneapolis and Every Meal that provides food for kids in need on weekends and in the summer.

And we're not stopping these efforts. We welcome your support of book or financial donations so that we can have a bigger impact in helping kids in our community grow up reading, with books in their home and properly nourished.
